Ali Kowitz, M. Ed. Named HDC Interim Director
The Human Development Center (HDC) is proud to announce Ali Kowitz, M.Ed. as Interim Director, a familiar and trusted leader within the HDC community. Since joining HDC in 2021 through the LASARD Project, Ali has been a dedicated part of the center’s work, building strong relationships and contributing to its mission of building capacity and inspiring change.
In stepping into this role, Ali reflects on the meaningful foundation established by Dr. Wilson and the collaborative spirit that defines HDC, "Dr. Wilson set a standard for HDC that I carry with me." She is grateful for the opportunity to help advance that legacy forward alongside the faculty and staff who bring the mission to life each day.

Looking ahead, Ali is focused on expanding HDC’s community outreach. One exciting initiative already in progress is the development of a 3D printing accessibility and adaptive tools lab. This space will bring together faculty, staff, project teams, and community partners to design and create adaptive tools for individuals with disabilities, while also strengthening collaboration across the School of Allied Health Professions. More information on how to get involved will be shared this summer.
Ali also aims to broaden HDC’s reach to better serve adults with disabilities, with a focus on building more inclusive communities and expanding access to supports across the lifespan.
As Interim Director, Ali is committed to keeping communication open and collaboration at the forefront. She encourages faculty and staff to share ideas, ask questions, and stay engaged as HDC continues to grow.
With her deep roots in the organization and a clear vision for the future, Ali looks forward to working together to ensure people with disabilities have the support they need to live full, self-determined lives in their communities.
