Joseph Tate, M.Ed. is a LASARD facilitator in the greater New Orleans area. He’s worked with exceptional students and their teachers for 17 years now, half of that time as a special education teacher and the other half as a special education administrator. Joseph loves helping teachers and schools create inclusive environments where all students thrive! He has an undergraduate degree in special education from the University of Memphis and a Master of Special Education from the University of New Orleans. Joseph is also a graduate of the 2016 cohort of the Special Education Leader Fellowship, a program designed to help school leaders in the New Orleans area enhance their skills in special education practice and leadership.

When Joseph’s not at work, he loves going on cruises or visiting his favorite theme park, Dollywood! He also loves exploring the “Best-bank” of New Orleans, which is where he and his husband live with their two bulldogs, Big Baby and Carl Dean. Joseph is also a float lieutenant in one of the largest Carnival krewes in the city, and loves going to as many balls, parades, and events as he can during the Carnival season.
