Employee Spotlight: Brandy Brooks, MSW, RSW

As a Family Engagement Specialist with the Early Head Start Child Care Partnership, Brandy Brooks works with community partners providing Technical Assistance to childcare center coordinators. She also works within the community to provide resources for participating families. By doing so, Brandy truly embodies HDC’s commitment to “Building Capacity.” She works directly with families to connect them with opportunities that help them succeed. Her favorite part of the job? Seeing families achieve their goals. Brandy strengthens their paths to success by connecting families with community resources they would not otherwise have access to.
In almost two years at the Human Development Center, the last several months have been some of Brandy’s most fulfilling work. She is committed to helping families in these trying times, and feels honored to help children continue receiving quality childcare. As well, she works hard to help families find vital resources that enhance their quality of life, such as rental assistance, utility assistance, job opportunities, and mental health assistance.
Brandy Brooks comes to the Human Development Center with more than 20 years of experience in social work, including positions associated with mental health, schools, behavior intervention, services for families experiencing homelessness, and more. She has a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans. Brandy enjoys being a Boy Mom to her 11 year old son, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
