Svetha Mohan
I have had the joy of working with children with developmental disabilities in the role of a Registered Behavior Therapist at an ABA outpatient clinic, as well as in an educational setting as an assistant teacher. These and other professional experiences have given me a small glimpse into the lived experiences of individuals with disabilities and their families, and have fueled my desire to pursue a career in the field of developmental disabilities to provide services to children and families.
My goals for the LEND training experience are to learn more about policy and advocacy and the lived experiences of individuals with disabilities and their families while working alongside a group of interdisciplinary professionals and peers. By the end of the year, I hope to be a more knowledgeable advocate and a better clinician.
My career goal is to become a licensed psychologist. In this role, I can be an advocate for my clients, provide access to psychological evaluations during critical periods in early childhood, and provide community-based resources and access to early intervention services. As a psychologist, providing quality care and reducing barriers impeding children and families from accessing care will be my main priority.
