During my undergraduate experience, I was a tech at an outpatient pediatric therapy clinic. This was not only where I found my passion for OT, but also where I found my passion for working with children with disabilities. I had the opportunity to work hands on with these children and build meaningful relationships with them and their families. I learned about the various struggles and victories that they face on a day-to-day basis. This is when I quickly learned that I wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to collaborate with them to address their struggles in order to experience more victories.

One of my goals for this experience in the Interprofessional Preparation Program is to gain a better understanding of what special education looks like through the lens of an allied health professional and to gain knowledge and skills that will better prepare me to help students in the future.

In my future career, I hope to contribute knowledge, skills, and hope to students and families that receive special education services. I hope that this experience, along with my degree in Occupational Therapy, will allow me to make a difference in the world of special education for the better of all students.
