What are your past/current experiences working in the field of disabilities, allied health, education, or school?

During my pursuit of a bachelor’s degree at LSU in Baton Rouge, I distinguished myself by serving as an occupational therapy technician at McMains Children’s Developmental Center. Within this facility I assisted therapists in the outpatient pediatric program, encompassing vital aspects of neurodevelopmental care, engaging camps, and enriching programs designed to nurture children’s growth and development. At present, I am furthering my education as a student at the esteemed occupational therapy program at LSUHSC. I eagerly anticipate my forthcoming 13-week clinical rotation, which will see me specializing in the field of pediatric therapy.

What are your goals for your Interprofessional Preparation experience?

My aspirations within the IPP program are to gain a comprehensive understanding of the collaboration within the healthcare team, ultimately contributing to the delivery of exceptional care for children. I also aim to elevate my interpersonal communication abilities to foster meaningful connections and acquire valuable insights in the realm of pediatric care, further enriching my expertise in the vital field.

What do you wish to contribute as a future Related Service Provider &/or Special Education Teacher?

I aspire to be a compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated pediatric occupational therapist who positively impacts the lives of children and their families while advocating for the highest standards of care and support. Recognizing the diversity within the pediatric patient population, I will strive for cultural competence, ensuring that my services are inclusive and sensitive to the unique needs of each child and family.
