Bonnie Gibbons
My passion for working with individuals with disabilities originated from the Best Buddies organization at LSU. Developing lasting friendships with the members fostered my desire to learn more and advocate for individuals with disabilities.
Through the LEND training experience, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of maternal and child health to better assist people in both my professional and personal life. I am excited to gain knowledge about different resources for individuals with disabilities as well as policy and advocacy. My goal is to be as informed as possible in order to be the best advocate for individuals with disabilities.
Following completion of the LEND program, I will continue to educate others about LEND’s message. Education about maternal and child health is crucial in today’s society. I hope to contribute my knowledge gained from LEND to other healthcare professionals, legislatures, family, and friends.
