Taylor Stansberry

Taylor is currently a third-year Doctor of Audiology student at LSU Health Sciences Center. She received her Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Mississippi before returning home to New Orleans for graduate school. At Ole Miss and LSUHSC, Taylor published two articles alongside her professors on the auditory system and its relationship to different areas of the brain. She also acts as the Social Media Chair for the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) on campus. Outside of class, she works at the local boutique Lucy Rose, tries new restaurants with her sisters, and enjoys walking around City Park.

Taylor’s interest in becoming an audiologist and Louisiana LEND Scholar developed from her experiences working at Therapeutic Learning Center, a local pediatric therapy clinic, and volunteering with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs). Audiologists can be the first to notice the signs and symptoms of disorders because hearing is impacted by many aspects of the body. As a future clinician, she hopes to use the knowledge, resources, connections, and leadership skills she has learned to help, connect, and advocate for individuals with NDDs and their families in the New Orleans area.
