Sanshawanna Jones

I have had the pleasure of servicing citizens with developmental disabilities in the role of a Community Service Professional as well as students with disabilities in the educational setting as a School Psychologist Intern. These roles and other professional experiences exposed me to the lived experiences, both beautiful and challenging, individuals with disabilities and their families face, which sparked my desire for a career devoted to advocacy and service in the field of developmental disabilities!

My primary goals for LEND are to delve into the formalities of policy and advocacy while developing a network of like-minded peers. I hope to end the year as a more knowledgeable advocate capable of effecting change at the community and societal level. Moreover, I’m thrilled for the Family Mentor Experience and the opportunity to become a part of my family’s life for a year!

My long-standing career goal is to become a licensed psychologist. In this role, I can directly impact access to psychological evaluations during critical periods in early childhood, subsequently increasing access to early intervention services. Likewise, as a School Psychologist, reducing barriers impeding students with disabilities access to quality education will always be a top priority!
